Discover Lübeck's green side from the water

The city-wakenitz tour

The short tour with great recreational value – in just 2 hours!

Those looking for a short break from the hustle and bustle of the city will find it on the Stadtwakenitz cruise: a relaxed boat tour through Lübeck, where nature, history and maritime flair merge in a unique way.

It takes around two hours to walk from the heart of the Hanseatic city along the idyllic Stadtwakenitz – past historic villas, hidden gardens, Lübeck’s only city island and the Kaninchenberg estate, which is steeped in history.

Ideal for day guests, short breaks in between or as the perfect way to bridge the gap between a city tour and dinner. If you want to experience Lübeck on quiet waterways without having to spend the whole day travelling, this is also the right place for you.

Hint: For an even deeper experience of nature, we recommend our long panoramic tour to Rothenhusen - one of the most beautiful river cruises in Germany!

Fahrtbeschreibung: Stadtwakenitzfahrt

Tour description

Let’s set off on a special trip along one of Lübeck’s hidden waterways – the green, idyllic Stadt-Wakenitz! We start in the Hanseatic city and pass the Gate of Hope, which is almost reminiscent of a small castle. With the city panorama behind us, we glide under the Moltke Bridge and leave the bustling city behind us.

Our journey takes us past magnificent villas, picturesque allotments and gently swaying water plants. We quietly pass Lübeck’s only inhabited city island – the island of Spiringshorst. Finally, we reach the historic manor house of Gut Kaninchenberg, where Napoleon once spent the night. Here we turn round and set off on our leisurely return journey.
